Just in Time Captivate 9 updates

As always, Adobe engineers do a fantastic job of listening to our requests and fixing the bugs.

To discover how to perform the Adobe Captivate 9 upgrade and read about the bugs that have been fixed go to Adobe's release notes

And I’m about to do a 2-hour presentation at Learning Solutions Conference 2016 on 20 Tips for Adobe Captivate Workflow next week so this Captivate 9 update came out just in time. How cool is that!

Here are some things I like best about the new Adobe Captivate 9 upgrade:

1.    Rulers
·      Not only can you easily add Rulers now, but in Responsive projects you can change the ruler from pixels to percent.

2.    Guides
·      You can add horizontal and vertical guides
·      You can add multiple guides
·      You can snap objects to the guides
·       You even can change the color of the guides

3.    Multi-state objects

·      If you move the object now the states move in relation to the object

·      You can decide if you want the state to be set back to normal on slide revisit or retain the current state on slide revisit

Check out my quick video tutorial on how to use the rules, guides, and states (sorry about the audio in this video, I did it very quickly on the fly so there are some annoying clunks!)

4.    Device Capture: Mac users only

·      Gesture depiction is is shown on timeline instead of smart shapes to assist with differentiating
·      A timer has been added while recording to assist with knowing how long you are recording.
·      If you change the device orientation a warning alarm will sound to let you know
·      Device audio will now play through the Mac to improve recording options

5.    Captivate Draft:

·      Drawing shapes on screen is merged into Edit mode
·      Copy/paste objects from one slide to next has been added
·      Two finger swipe navigation option added

WARNING: Learning Interactions Adobe engineers upgraded the J-Query Library version thus to ensure the Learning Interactions function properly DELETE Learning Interactions from previous captivate versions and re-insert.
