So I figured I better hone up my skills on the new Adobe Presenter 10 (as many of you know I am an avid user of Adobe Captivate.
Although I developed, and taught, Adobe Presenter 9 and really enjoy the features, Adobe Presenter 10 has even more features that make it even more appealing, especially in the Video Creator.
Adobe Video Creator 10 (comes with the download of Adobe Presenter - (basically you're getting a 2 for 1 deal, Adobe Presenter and Adobe Video Creator).
The main new feature of Adobe Presenter 10 (not including the video creator) that is different than version 9, is that you can publish to HTLM5, which means that your eLearning courses will now also become mLearning courses as they are available on mobile devices.
In short, Adobe Presenter is a rapid development eLearning authoring tool and it is a PowerPoint plug in, which means there is no additional application to open. Once you've downloaded AdobePresenter, all you have to do is open PowerPoint and you'll notice you have an additional tab in the menu.
What you can do with Adobe Presenter:
- Record (and sync) audio narration
- Insert video
- Record Application Simulations (must have Adobe Captivate on your machine)
- Use learning interactions (and games) to engage your audience
- Insert Characters and Scenes
- There are various types of quiz questions
- Enable reporting to Learning Management Systems
- Publish to for HTLM5 (mobile devices) NEW
- Add Closed Captions (508 compliance) through notes
- Easily add attachments
- Use the Collaboration for Analytics and Social Learning
- Adobe Video Creator

I love Adobe Presenter 10's Video Creator. You can create a personal touch with the video creator that you can't do in Captivate. The Video Creator is and HD video tool that allows you to, not only record what you're doing on your computer, but it is also recording you. During the editing process you can determine if you want to show what you're doing on your computer, you, or both you and what you're doing on the computer.
The new Adobe Video Creator 10 features:
- Editing:
- The ability to swap between layouts easily
- Trimming has been enhanced
- Adding Pan and zoom
- Native resolution screen capture
- A wider range of really cool themes (intros to your videos)
- Multiple lower third options
- SRT file - ability to export, edit and reimport Closed Captions
- Video analytics - allows tracking of learner performance
